الملخص

أعد هذا البحث من قبل الكاتبة "فاسيليكي فوكا" الاستاذة في قسم العلوم السياسية بجامعة ستانفورد في ولاية كاليفورنيا في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، وهي متخصصة في موضوعات سياسات الهجرة والاندماج والهوية وتأثير السياسات العامة على السلوك الاجتماعي وسوق العمل، وتسعى الباحثة إلى تحليل الكيفية التي تؤثر بها سياسات الدولة في عملية اندماج المهاجرين داخل المجتمعات المضيفة لاسيما فيما يتعلق بوضعهم القانوني ، الجنسية، سوق العمل، حرية التنقل ، التعليم، الرعاية الاجتماعية، والحقوق الثقافية، ينطلق البحث من فرضية أساسية مفادها أن السياسات العامة لاندماج كلما تتجه إلى خفض تكاليف المهاجرين وتنظيم الوصول إلى الحقوق عبر مسارات مادية ونفسية في البلد المضيف، كلما أسهم ذلك في تعزيز الاندماج الاجتماعي، وتغيير سلوك المهاجرين والمواطنين الأصليين، إذ إن الإندماج ليس عملية أحادية الجانب، إنما هو نتيجة تفاعل ديناميكي بين المهاجرين والسكان الأصلين المجتمع والدولة المضيفة ،
