The Egyptian foreign policy towards the Arab countries in general and Syria in particular witnessed several paths and were affected by some factors, including what is internal and external, both regional and international, and as any country the Egyptian foreign policy was affected by its constitutional and local factors in making its foreign policy, or that directly affected the nature of dealing with Syria Since the latter was considered a member of the Axis of Evil countries that were launched against several countries, including Syria, by the American administration after the events of September 11, 2001, and its accompanying events on the Palestinian, Iraqi, and Lebanese arenas, as well as that had a prominent impact in the formulation of Egyptian foreign policy towards Syria.
