The
research focuses on delineating the contours of legislative evolution driven by societal transformations and the pervasive use of modern technology. This study examines how criminal policy has harnessed these changes to develop and refine criminal codes. Specifically, the research delves into the comparative analysis of domestic and international criminal legislation, with a particular focus on the Iraqi Penal Code No. 111 of 1969. The aim is to assess the extent to which this code has kept pace with these developments, from crimes committed using the internet and computers to those perpetrated through artificial intelligence, which represent the most perilous frontier of this technological evolution.
