At a time when international humanitarian law seeks to protect the victims of international and non-international armed conflicts, especially civilians, the reports and research that dealt with the protection of women in particular will not be of the magnitude and severity of the suffering of this group, especially with the development of means and methods of combat. While women live side by side with men, they experience more suffering and pain than men because of the prior discriminatory treatment experienced by women, in addition to the fact that this suffering will increase in size during armed conflicts, exposing them to assault and violation of many of their rights directly or indirectly. Physical and psychological safety is an important means, especially with regard to cases of sexual violence.
